The Marv (er)
a tool for lampworkers
What is "The Marv"
The Marv is a shaping and sculpting tool for lampworkers. With the brass roller mounted on bearings, it moves smoothly along your work. Much like a rolling pin shapes dough, The Marv helps you shape your glass work.
As you hold the stainless steel handle, roll the brass end along your work to flatten, shape or smooth it. Use it to create uniform edges and push down murrini. Try creating a three-sided bicone or shaping the neck of a vessel.
See the Tips page for many ideas on how you can use The Marv in your work. Its the perfect tool at a great price.

Thank you to everyone for your support. It has been a wonderful first week with the online store. I have been able to ship orders the same day they are received so far. I look forward to your feedback and photos of what you create with "The Marv".

It has taken several months to get this going, but I am ready to release "The Marv". Please take a minute to look around and explore what this tool can do for you.
There is no right or wrong way to use "The Marv". In fact, I look forward to hearing your ideas about how you have used it and what creative ideas you have to share with others. Please email me your picutres and ideas of how you use this tool for shaping, sculpting, rolling in murrini, etc. While the design is simple, the possibilities are limitless.

Final testing on the recent updates to the design. I have made some minor changes to the materials used and added the option for a rubberized grip handle.
If you don't like the bare metal handle, add the rubberized handle to your order.. It adds color and gives you something to hold onto besides the bare stainless steel.. I'm offering it as an option so you can decide for yourself if you want it. The handle is 7/32" stainless and can also be used as a large hole mandrel if desired.
Thank you!
I want to give a huge thank you to Samma Parcels and Lisa Atchison for testing "The Marv".
